Heerlen, 1990 Repetition creates knowledge like a heavenly ladder. Rung after rung, they climbed, upwards and sideways and frontways and backwards until they understood: Mike Moonen is a saboteur of common sense. Obfuscating intention and authorship, he employs found materials, unusual contexts, humor and collaborative spirit to construct and host neverending narratives and forever-ongoing installations, collages and films. With a focus on what is wrong, improper, messy and irregular, he questions what value brings quality and what quality brings value. He is a member of LosDQ, an artwork in band form which has been active with an ever-changing composition of members for over 30 years.



Mateusz Grymel
